Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship
The course was initiated by Tsinghua University's x-lab and School of Economics and Management. Social innovation and entrepreneurship is a process whereby the entrepreneurs solve social problems through innovations in models, technology and ideas, and create greater value while realizing their goals through reorganization of social and commercial resources and optimization of resource allocation.
The course includes the theory and practice of social innovation, the entrepreneurial beginnings and growth of social innovation-oriented start-ups, the progress and development of social organizations and enterprises in China and globally, as well as evaluation of their social impact. It also introduces the ideas of social investment and nurtures the students' capabilities for exploring new programs through offline guidance.
