The New Venture Creation course is offered by the Tsinghua University Science Park (TusPark) and School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University. It discusses about the main problems faced and provides resources needed in setting up a startup. About half of the 91 teams that attended the course have established new start-ups and more than 20 teams have attracted direct and indirect investment of 80 million yuan ($12.31 million) in total through the course.

The course is like an innovation-oriented incubator. The applicants are selected by interviews and attend mid-term and final road shows for evaluation of their performance in the course. The jury members are scholars, industrial experts and investors, whose advice is more practical and valuable for the future development of the team.

In addition, a 20-million-yuan fund for incubation is provided to support the most outstanding entrepreneurial teams and their business plans, which usually leads to outside investment from other venture capital funds. Professional investors also offer consultation and guidance to the teams on starting new businesses, helping them to realize their dreams of business success sooner and better.

The course, with instructors from universities and enterprises, offers students skills, knowledge and integrated resources for tackling the major problems in new businesses.

In the meantime, it’s tailored and improved according to students' demands. All the entrepreneurial teams can communicate with each other through an online community and regular offline seminars.
