As a leading company in the domestic telecommunication smart card chip market, Beijing Tongfang Microelectronics Co Ltd is the designated chip supplier for all three of China's top telecommunication operators, China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom. It expanded into the international market after entering the Chinese SIM card market in December, 2005. 

Tongfang Microelectronics' telecommunication clients include most of the domestic and several leading international card companies. It enjoys an increasing share of the SIM cards market. In 2014, it shipped more than 1.1 billion SIM cards, accounting for more than 20 percent share of the global market.
