RDA8605 is the first TD-SCDMA/GSM dual-mode radio frequency single-chip in the world. It supports the free switches of TD and GSM at six frequency bands, and the RDA8605 supports the GPRS function at 2.5G network. It applies 0.18um CMOS technology, and is packaged in low-cost 7mm*7mm QFN. As the ABB (analog base band) is inventively integrated into the chip, the problem of plug-in ABB was solved for the first time, which extensively improved the chip's integration level.

The RDA8605 won recognition from mainstream TD baseband manufacturers for distinguished performance and competitive cost. It laid the foundation for the mass production of RDA8206B and also played a positive role in the TD-SCDMA terminal industry's development. It was honored with the "China Chip" Most Potential Award by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's Software and Integrated Circuit Promotion Center in 2006.
