Written by Professor Tan Haoqiang of Tsinghua University, Program C Design was published in 1991. It was recognized immediately as an important publication and 14 million copies have been issued. This book is the main textbook for new learners of Program C design in China. It is among the 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-2015) National Planned Textbooks for undergraduate education, an authorized project of the Beijing Higher Education Teaching Materials, and a winner of the national university press' outstanding bestseller award. It has also been awarded the first prize for excellent textbook given by the former Ministry of Electronic Industry and the Association of Fundamental Computing Education in Chinese Universities.
