Xu Jinghong, chairman of Tsinghua Holdings Co Ltd, took part in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation CEO Summit held on Nov 18-19 in Lima, Peru.

Tsinghua Holdings Chairman Xu Jinghong and Peru's entrepreneurs discuss global economic development, regional economic integration, connectivity, and cooperation, among other topics.

During the visit to Peru, Xu met with local influential entrepreneurs and talked about cooperation and development between Tsinghua Holdings and Peru's enterprises.

“Latin America enjoys a relatively stable political environment and requires transformation of its economic development mode while China has laid a good foundation in high-tech industry over the years, a situation leading to economic cooperation and development between the two sides,” said Xu at an interview, adding that Tsinghua Holdings has established closer high-tech cooperation with Latin American countries.

“Tsinghua Holdings will expand cooperation with Latin American enterprises in a wide range of fields, including energy, communication, security, health care, and education,” Xu Jinghong said.

Tsinghua Holdings has discussed establishing funds and building incubators with Latin American enterprises, and both sides can expect further ties in broader fields and business modes, he added.

Xu also visited a large container inspection project of Nuctech Company Limited, another affiliate of Tsinghua Holdings and an advanced security and inspection solution and service supplier.

Nuctech entered the Latin American market in 2003 and has sold products in 23 Latin American countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, and Chile. 

The company has five branches across Latin America with its products applied in customs, civil aviation, postal service, courts and security work for major events, such as the 2007 Pan American Games, the 2014 FIFA World Cup, the 2015 Panama summit of the Americas, and the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

Huang Yu, senior vice-president of Tsinghua Holdings Co Ltd and president of Tongfang Co Ltd, and Zhang Hongmin, president assistant and head of the Strategic Development Center of Tsinghua Holdings Co Ltd, took part in the summit.
