A delegation of the Canada-China Business Council (CCBC) visits Tsinghua Holdings Co Ltd in Beijing, on Dec 15.

Zhao Yanlai, vice-president of Tsinghua Holdings, met Sarah Kutulakos, executive director, Travis Joern, managing director, and Jane Deng, membership director of CCBC, and said Tsinghua Holdings sees international business cooperation as a major pathway they plan to follow in the next three to five years. The holding company is expanding efforts to enhance partnerships with foreign partners, including governments, academia, and social resources.

Zhao also introduced Tsinghua Holdings' development, business layout, and technology transformation in addition to the progress its innovation promotion center has made in incubation, research achievement transformation, and venture capital.

Ms Kutulakos outlined what the China Office of CCBC has done in helping Canadian entrepreneurial teams enter the Chinese market. They have established incubators and held regular lectures and activities, enabling a soft landing of small and medium-sized Canadian enterprises in China.

“As many of Canada’s tech start-up companies in various areas such as DNA testing, smart cities, unmanned vehicles, clean energy, and sewage treatment plan to do business in China within five years, we hope to help them attract attention from active capital in the Chinese market," said Ms Kutulakos. She added that the CCBC can facilitate projects incubated by Tsinghua Holdings to get industrial, capital and governmental resources in the Canadian market.
