The leading Chinese online learning platform XuetangX.com confirmed an agreement with Madrid-based telecommunications giant Telefonica to become China's only service provider for the SIELE, a global digital Spanish language proficiency test in 2016.

A launch ceremony for SIELE China is held at Tsinghua University Science Park.

A Massive Open Online Courses platform for the SIELE was launched on XuetangX.com in late 2016 and Chinese applicants can now take the test through the website siele.org.cn.

Developed by Telefonica's digital education division, the SIELE, which stands for the International Assessment Service for the Spanish Language, is the first global, unified Spanish language testing system to evaluate and certify the proficiency level by digital means.
