GSAFETY-Huawei crisis and disaster management solution targets city safety

Tsinghua Holdings' affiliate GSAFETY has partnered with Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei Technologies to create a new crisis and disaster management solution for the global market. The companies launched the new service at the Huawei Global Safe City Summit 2017 in Dubai on April 26.

Also known as Beijing Global Safety Technology Co., Ltd, GSAFETY is a leading public safety and security solutions provider that draws on the expertise and research of Tsinghua University.

The company shared the new solution's powerful functions with the summit, which was attended by many government officials from around the world as well as public security and disaster management experts.

Combining GSAFETY's public security experience with Huawei's state-of-the-art communications and converged command and control technology, the new solution promises to improve cities' capacity to handle large-scale emergencies and disasters such as extreme climate events.

"The Crisis and Disaster Management Solution converges IoT sensing, big data and modeling analysis to support prevention, preparation, response and resolution in crisis and disaster situation, better protecting human lives," said Nadim Abdulrahim, a global public safety expert at Huawei.

Integrating hardware and software, it offers a comprehensive range of functions including forecasting, risk analysis, simulation exercises, surveillance, coordination, dynamic decision making and emergency communications.

Supporting multilayer management at on-site, municipal, regional and national level, the new solution represents a milestone for GSAFETY's security services.
