XuetangX is an application platform on which the online education research center of the Ministry of Education shares its research achievements. It is under MOOC-CN Education Investment Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Tsinghua Holdings.

Since its establishment in October 2013, XuetangX has vigorously been dedicated to educational reform and providing quality MOOCs of world-class universities, developing itself into an integrated platform serving learners around the world.

At present, XuetangX's over 1,000 quality courses from dozens of world-renowned universities, including Tsinghua, Peking, Stanford and MIT are available on computers, cellphones, tablets, TVs and iWatches, in the fields of computing, economic management, literature and engineering.

In April 2014, XuetangX became the only authorized edX platform in the Chinese mainland. In 2015 and 2016, XuetangX was ranked one of the top three online education platforms with the most quality courses on the world's MOOC list by Guokr.com, a popular Chinese science and technology news site.

XuetangX has also built up connections with some governments and universities in Africa, setting up platforms and providing services for them.

Under the guidance of the Belt and Road Initiative, XuetangX will cooperate with more universities in Southeast Asia and Central Asia, sharing education resources and Chinese culture with more countries and regions.
