Nuctech security inspection solutions used in Belgium

A total of 11 sets of X-ray security inspection equipment of Nuctech have been put into use in four passenger railway stations in Belgium to safeguard and assist in the country's anti-terrorism work.

The equipment were from Nuctech, a world industry-leading advanced security & inspection solution and service supplier headquartered in Beijing, and they has been installed at Antwerpen Central Station, Liège Station, Brussels Airport Station and Brussels South Station, four important European transportation hubs. 


"The security inspection equipment will scan passengers' baggage to see if they are carrying dangerous or illegal items, such as firearms, ammunition and explosives. It will be a deterrent to terrorists to keep passengers safe," said Jan Jambon, minister of the Interior of Belgium.

Recent years have witnessed an increasing number of terrorist attacks in Europe. In March 2016, bomb attacks took place at Brussels Airport and subway stations in Belgium.

As the security situation becomes worse, public infrastructure like railway stations and subway stations require higher security assurance. Belgium became the first to implement security inspection measures at train stations in Western Europe, setting an example for other European countries facing similar terrorist attack threats.
