Tongfang Artificial Environment awarded for continuous environmental protection

Tsinghua Tongfang Artificial Environment Co Ltd received an award for its remarkable contribution and efforts in protecting the ozone layer on Sept 12, at a meeting celebrating 30th Anniversary of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer held in Beijing. 

Top officials from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Executive Committee of the Multilateral Fund under Montreal Protocol, and China's Ministry of Environmental Protection attended the meeting.

A meeting in commemoration of the 30th Anniversary of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer gets underway in Beijing on Sept 12.

At the meeting, China presented the achievements and environmental progress it has made in implementing the protocol.

Over the past 30 years, one hundred and ninety-seven countries have signed the Montreal protocol, which strictly prohibits the production of ozone depleting substances with the determination to protect the ozone layer and environment.

Preceding International Ozone Layer Protection Day on Sept 16, the meeting also called for more reliance on green technologies to facilitate economic development.

China has attached great importance to energy conservation and emissions reduction in its 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020), setting goals for the replacement of coal-burning energy with clean energy.

The company has been working on improving living conditions and is committed to leading national energy consumption toward a low-carbon and energy conserving era.

The air-source heat pump products produced by Tsinghua Tongfang Artificial Environment have been used for heating in Beijing.

In 2013, the company passed the Ministry of Environment's inspection on a project for replacing more pollutant refrigerants in small commercial air source water/heat pumps with more efficient and environmentally friendly refrigerants.

Tsinghua Tongfang Artificial Environment is a subsidiary of Tsinghua Holdings' affiliate Tsinghua Tongfang Co Ltd.
