Tsinghua Holdings' subsidiary Qingshang wins highest national award for construction project

Beijing Qingshang Architectural Ornamental Engineering Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Tsinghua Holdings Habitat Development Group affiliated to Tsinghua Holdings, received Luban Prize, the country's highest honor for quality construction projects, announced the China Construction Industry Association recently.
Qingshang was awarded the prize for its refined decoration engineering work for the Beijing Olympic Tower, located at Beijing Olympic Park.

With a height of 244.35 meters, the Olympic Tower is the only sightseeing tower comprised of five independent towers in the world. In the category of sightseeing towers, it ranks 22nd highest in the globe and the sixth highest in China.

One of the landmarks in north Beijing, the tower was designed with the message of "Tree of Life" to show respect to nature. It symbolizes a vigorous growth of life and solidarity spirit just as the Olympic Rings have implied.

Qingshang decorated the tower from six meters underground to the first floor, and the crown part of all five towers, which totaled 17,000 square meters. The construction took a year and a half to complete with strict quality management and control.

The company tackled a series of technical problems and applied a new type of material that can prevent walls against cracks, weathering and salt damage caused by ultraviolet rays and acid rains.
