Spreadtrum Communications Inc, a subsidiary of Tsinghua Unigroup affiliated to Tsinghua Holdings, has joined hands with Accent, a well-known national brand in Morocco, Africa, to launch two high-performance smartphones.

SC9832, an LTE chip platform and SC7731C, a WCDMA/HSPA (+) chip platform, both of which were developed by Spreadtrum, have been adopted by Cameleon C6 Plus and Cameleon C5, two Accent smartphone models, entering the markets of many countries in North Africa.

Over its history of more than 20 years, Accent has always been dedicated to developing IT products with a high performance-price ratio, including smartphones, tablets, PCs and accessories, and has gained a wide market share in North Africa.

The two smartphones are designated 4G and 3G versions, fully meeting users' demands in North Africa.

The Cameleon C6 Plus applies Spreadtrum's 28 nm 1.3 GHz Quad-code ARM Cortex-A7 5-mode SoC platform SC9832. It pre-installs the Android 7.0 system and supports 4G dual SIM cards and dual standby. It features a 5.5-inch HD screen, a 5 MP main camera, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage and a 2,800Ah battery.

The Cameleon C5 is on Spreadtrum's 1.2GHz Quad-code ARM Cortex-A7 WCDMA/HSPA(+) /GSM/GPRS/EDGE SoC platform SC7731C, and features a 5-inch TN screen, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage, 5 MP main camera and a 2000Ah battery.

"It's an honor for us to cooperate with Accent in providing the high-performance 3G/4G smartphones. We have shipped five million terminal products to North Africa since we entered the market, providing a wide range of diversified mobile products for users. Spreadtrum will continue to work with Accent to further develop the North Africa market, offering more quality products and services," said company Chairman Li Liyou.
