Tsinghua Holdings' subsidiary Chengzhi Shareholding Co Ltd made a donation to Tsinghua University on April 25, just before the Chinese top prestigious university's 107th anniversary celebration.

"Chengzhi Shareholding originates from Tsinghua University, and has been dedicated to bringing research findings to the market and making contributions to education and science sectors," said Yang Bin, vice-chancellor of Tsinghua University and chairman of the Tsinghua University Education Foundation. 

The donation represented Chengzhi's gratitude to the university as it approaches its 107th anniversary on April 29, according to Yang.

The donation will go to the Tsinghua Chengzhi Energy and Power Discipline Construction Foundation, the Tsinghua Chengzhi Energy and Power Department Development Foundation, and the Tsinghua Chengzhi Chemistry Discipline Construction Foundation, in a bid to support more talents development, improve teachers' quality, and construct world-class disciplines.

These departments need to make maximum use of the donation for talent training and scientific and technological innovation, said Yang Bin, adding that Chengzhi is sincere to strengthen connection and cooperation with related departments.

"Chengzhi is a member of Tsinghua-owned industries and it can't achieve great progress and development without the university's support. In return, Chengzhi should do its part to promote the university's development," said Zhang Ximin, vice-chairman of Chengzhi Shareholding.
