A university education information technology application capacity training class from the Eurasian countries marveled at China's advanced online education at the headquarters of XuetangX, the world's first Chinese MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses) platform on June 25.

Class members included education officers, university administrators and technology researchers from nine developing Eurasian countries along the Belt and Road.

Alejandro, an expert from XuetangX, introduced the concept of MOOC, the trends of online education and the ABCs of XuetangX.

Committed to being a world-leading education platform for lifelong learning, XuetangX has designed a wide range of talent training solutions for students of different ages and occupations, noted Alejandro.

Li Tenglin, a XuetangX member , elaborated on how to apply for master's degrees of Zhengzhou University via the online platform.

XuetangX provides users with high-quality online courses from many prestigious institutes including Tsinghua and Peking universities. Via the online platform, users can accumulate the necessary knowledge and prepare for their postgraduate study in popular majors such as clinical medicine, big data, and artificial intelligence.

Rain Classroom, a new type of teaching app developed by Tsinghua University, was also specially introduced as a smart tool useful in a blended teaching model.

"The era of smart teaching has arrived," said the visitors. They gave thumbs up to Rain Classroom's revolutionary plug-ins for their convenience in real-time feedback, personalized analysis and formative assessments.

"On-line education is playing an increasingly important role in leveling up university education," said Abdullaevna, an officer from the Public Education Department of Uzbekistan. "China's success in developing information technologies for higher education is a wonderful example for other countries."

Impressed by what they saw and heard, the class members exchanged their ideas on many in-depth topics like the business mode of XuetangX, how to make the best of its services and how to expand its presence in overseas markets.

Founded by Tsinghua University, XuetangX is devoted to gathering quality education resources from schools and enterprises, and providing low-cost, efficient access to knowledge, credits, certificates, and even degrees.

There are currently up to 11 million registered users and more than 1400 MOOC courses.
