Tsinghua's public safety research institute inks MOU with Dominican Ministry of the Presidency

The Hefei Institute for Public Safety Research of Tsinghua University reached a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of the Presidency of the Dominican Republic on cooperation in public emergency response in Beijing on November 2.
The two sides will carry out a series of cooperation projects to boost the development of public safety and emergency response in the Dominican Republic, according to the MOU.
The MOU was signed by You Zheng, vice-president of Tsinghua University and director of the administrative committee of Hefei institute, and Juan Ariel Jimenez, vice-minister at the Dominican Ministry of the Presidency.
The Dominican Ministry of the Presidency, which is directly under its government, takes the responsibility of the management and maintenance of the country's public safety systems.
Tsinghua University's Institute for Public Safety Research in Hefei City, East China's Anhui Province, is established based on the university's Department of Engineering Physics and supported by regional governments.
The institute is committed to the fundamental research, technology innovation and commercial use of technology achievements in public safety. Its advanced technologies and equipment have been used in many countries along the Belt and Road, playing an important role in helping improve local public safety.
