Tsinghua Tongheng Urban Planning & Design Institute (THUPDI), a subsidiary of Tsinghua Holdings Human Settlement Construction Group under Tsinghua Holdings, won the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) National Landscape Awardsfor its two landscape design projects at an award ceremony on Dec 7, 2018.
The landscape design project of Ya’an Panda Green Island Park stood out to win the gold medal in international projects.
Another project, the Baotou City’s Olympic Park Landscape Design, also won the award for an international project.
It was Tongheng’s eighth time to win the BALI National Landscape Awards, seeing its14projectsin total have won awards and six out them the gold medal for international projects.
The Panda Green Island Parkis located at a dam island between the old and new areas of Ya’an City in Southwest China’s Sichuan Province. It features a comprehensive park designed for cultural, leisure and fitness activities, which is in line with Ya’an’ s goal of a city of green development, ecological progress, and tourist attraction.
The Baotou Olympic Park is located in the core area ofBaotou’s new city, with a total design area of 224 hectares. It constitutes a large sports and leisure center together with surrounding venues, a sports site, a ribbons shape park, and the Saihantala Wetland Park.
