Five Tsinghua Holdings achievements win Beijing Scientific and Technological Awards

Firms affiliated to Tsinghua Holdings win awards at the Beijing Science and Technology Awards Conference.

 Five achievements of firms affiliated to Tsinghua Holdings won scientific and technological awards at the Beijing Science and Technology Awards Conference held on March 1.

A project on research and application of key technologies of green public building environments and energy-saving designs, with participation of the Tongheng Urban Planning & Design Institute, and another on development and application of key technologies of a dual-energy CT animal and plant quarantine intelligent inspection system, with participation by Nuctech, won first prizes.

Second prize went to a project on development and application of a fetal chromosome abnormality detection system with participation of CapitalBio, while another two projects, the artificial intelligence application and operation service of video big data and the development and application of gene detection products for companion diagnostic of lung cancer and colorectal cancer, with participation of Tongfang and ACCB Biotech respectively, won third prizes.

Nuctech’s project is the first time CT scan technology has been applied in animal and plant quarantine and provides advanced equipment in that field which is new around the world.

The Nutech initiative overcomes the problem of overlapping objects that limits the X-ray system long used in entry-exit inspection and quarantine and improves checking precision.

As of now, 172 domestic and foreign invention patents related to this project have been granted and its core technologies have been commercialized.
