Overall area of 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition

The Tsinghua Tongheng Urban Planning and Design Institute (THUPDI), a subsidiary of Tsinghua Holdings Human Settlement Construction Group, took part in the overall planning of the International Horticultural Exhibition which started on April 29 in Beijing.

Together with othermember institutes, THUPDI worked to combine factors of traditional garden landscaping with those of more moderngarden designsto build thetop-level special international horticultural exhibitioninto the largest event Beijing has ever held since the 2008 Olympic Games.

In 2014, THUPDI stood out from among ten solicitation schemes of conceptual planning and design proposals for the 2019 International Horticultural Expo. 

Standing on the commanding height of the exhibition park, people can enjoy views of the Weishui River

In the garden,wetland and large arbors were reserved and the structure of existent villages was preservedto avoid damage to the original environment in the course of the renovation work.

The planning was elaborated to mitigatenegative effects to the environment due to reconstruction by making full use of the existent landscape and reducing artificial installations.
