Fifteen projects of Tsinghua Holdings awarded with national illumination prize

Four member enterprises of Tsinghua Holdings were recently awarded the national illumination prize for fifteen illumination design projects in a national evaluation by the China Illuminating Engineering Society (CIES).

The projects were separately designed by the Tsinghua Tongheng Urban Planning and Design Institute, Tsinghua Holdings Habitat Development Lighting Institute, the Architectural Design and Research Institute of Tsinghua University and Tsinghua Tongfang, which are all affiliates of Tsinghua Holdings.

Five of the projects were awarded first prizes, seven took second prizes, and three received third prizes.

As examples, the Architectural Design and Research Institute of Tsinghua University won a first prize for nightscape lighting designs in the National Convention Center and the Olympic Sailing Center in Qingdao, and the Tsinghua Tongheng Urban Planning and Design Institute won asecond prize for its nightscape illumination project in the Shaanxi History Museum of Xi’An.

The national illumination prize was set up by CIES in 2005 to award organizations and individuals contributing tothe illumination field at home and abroad including illumination project technology innovation, research achievement promotion and application. It’s the only official award approved by the National Office for Science and Technology Awards in the illumination field.

The awards ceremony for the fourteenth session of the illumination awards will be part of the China illumination forum in 2019 to be held from Sept 4 to 6 in Changzhou.
