UNISOC, a leading 'fabless' semiconductor company - and a core subsidiary of Tsinghua Unigroup - committed to the research and development of core chipsets in mobile communications and the 'Internet of Things', achieved TMMi Level 4 Measured status on Dec 11, 2019.

UNISOC has become the first company to pass TMMi4 certification in mobile phone chip design worldwide.

The TMMi Foundation is a non-profit organization which supports organizations around the world in improving their software and system-testing and achieving higher and more sustainable levels of product quality for the systems they are developing and maintaining. With TMMi, these organizations can assess and improve their test processes in a cost-effective manner and, if required, become formally certified.

TMMi (Test Maturity Model integration) is a set of guidelines and reference frameworks used to improve the testing process, and is also the most authoritative.

Chen Yufeng, COO of UNISOC, said the TMMi is an excellent testing process improvement model. With TMMi, UNISOC hopes to optimize and improve its testing capabilities, and thus improve its product quality.

"UNISOC is the first company in the world to achieve TMMi4 certification in the field of chip design, which is a remarkable achievement. It indicates the company has a good and orderly process, and is able to conduct quantitative management of organizational processes and product quality and measure their effectiveness," said TMMi Foundation chairman Geoff Thompson, adding that he hoped UNISOC can maintain its testing capacity and strive to move to the next level.
