Enterprises under Tsinghua Holdings make continuous efforts in COVID-19 prevention and control

Subsidiary companies of Tsinghua Holdings, including Tus-Holdings, Chengzhi Holdings, Tsinghua University Press, and MOOC-CN Education, give full play to their advantages and work hard to fight against the novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP), which the WHO has named COVID-19.

Tus-Holdings has contributed to the epidemic prevention and control efforts by mobilizing its medical detection, medical waste disposal, mask production, air purification products production, and urban environmental sanitation businesses.

Tus-EST, a subsidiary dedicated to ecological and environmental protection of Tus-Holdings, has deployed its 12 medical waste projects nationwide and worked on medical waste disposal and treatment ever since the epidemic outbreak.

The company has collected, transported and disposed of more than 100 tons of medical waste since Jan 23, without any case of infection.

Tus-Holdings' urban sanitation, kitchen waste disposal, and waste incineration power generation projects in Hubei province, epicenter of the outbreak and in other regions across China have been making all-out efforts to assist epidemic control. More than 90,000 employees were kept working around the clock during the Spring Festival holiday to conduct food waste disposal, garbage incineration power generation, sanitation disinfection and cleaning, and urban water supply and sewage treatment in a timely manner.

Knowing that kitchen waste must be processed professionally and quickly, more than 1,000 employees from Tus-Holdings' 18 waste incineration power plants have processed about 47,500 tons of waste since the start of Spring Festival.

The intelligent production base of Yadu Technology, a subsidiary of Tus-Holdings specializing in air purification products in Tengzhou city, Shandong province, called employees on vacation back to continue work on January 21. It allocated protective masks, resumed production, and donated masks to Xiong'an New District in Hebei province and Tsinghua University Hospital.

Chengzhi Holdings donated 50,000 masks to Tsinghua University to help it ease an urgent need for anti-epidemic supplies.

Xuetangx.com, an online education platform under MOOC-CN Education, has launched free live courses, including technical training, expert reports and demonstration courses for universities until the end of the epidemic.

The Rain Class APP developed jointly by Tsinghua University and Xuetangx.com provides big data solutions for the classroom and will help teachers with online teaching and mixed teaching. Students can participate in online learning through WeChat.

Xuetangx.com also provided regular Rain Classroom live training courses and interactive Q & A for teachers from all over the country.

The Tsinghua University Press opened its Wenquan Academy, an online higher education professional knowledge base for teachers and students across the country, to provide free reading services and lesson preparation resources.
