Tsinghua Tongheng and Italian cultural heritage protection experts reach strategic partnership

Tsinghua Tongheng Urban Planning & Design Institute signs a strategic partnership agreement with N! Studio Architecture in Italy by video conference on March 23, 2020.

Tsinghua Tongheng Urban Planning & Design Institute (THUPDI), a subsidiary of Tsinghua Holdings Human Settlement Construction Group, signed a strategic partnership agreement with Italy’s N! Studio Architecture & Interiors by video conference on March 23, 2020. They hope to promote cultural heritage protection and development in both China and Italy.

Yuan Xin, head of the THUPDI, Lin Ye, head of the institute’s Sichuan Branch, Huo Xiaowei, director of the Heritage Protection and Urban-Rural Development Research Center of the THUPDI, and Zhang Jin and Xiao Jinliang, heads of the 5th and 6th departments of the research center as well as N! Studio founder Susanna Ferrini and lead architect Valerio de Divitiis attended the signing ceremony.

A video conference is held to enable signing of a strategic partnership agreement on cultural heritage protection and development in China and Italy by THUPDI and N!Studio.

Yuan, Lin, and Huo briefly and respectively introduced the business, management model, and work results of the THUPDI as well as its Sichuan Branch and the Heritage Protection and Urban-Rural Development Research Center. They expressed deep concern over the suffering caused by COVID-19 in Italy.

Susanna thanked China for its great help to Italy and to the Italian people amid the fight against the epidemic. She also highly appreciated and confirmed the expertise, work enthusiasm, efficiency and good working atmosphere of the THUPDI project team working in cooperation with N! Studio.

N1 Studio felt very happy about the process of collaboration with the THUPDI on the previous two projects, which were very productive and fruitful, she said.

The project teams of both sides have built deep friendships through cooperation, Susanna added. She hoped as the N!Studio opened its new branch in Chengdu City, Southwest China’s Sichuan Province, both sides will further cooperate in the future.

Zhang and Xiao introduced the cooperation projects between THUPDI and N!Studio – the Donghuamen Ruins Park Project in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province and the Dahe Village Ruins Museum in Zhengzhou City, Central China’s Henan Province.

Yuan and Susanna inked the strategic partnership agreement and displayed the signed document to each other.

N! Studio Architecture was founded in Rome in 1991, specializing in the restoration of cultural buildings. The studio designed and built many Italian public buildings and cultural and exhibition centers.

In addition, it has participated in the architectural design work of a number of Italian archaeological parks and archaeological museums, and participated in the design of parks and museum projects in China.
