A book in Polish on the study of China’s harmonious democracy, published by Tsinghua University Press (TUP), has made the 2020 subsidized list of the Silk Road Book Publishing Project, the project’s official office recently announced.

TUP, a subsidiary of Tsinghua Holdings Co., Ltd, has had seven projects selected in the Silk Road Book Publishing Project for the third straight year, but this is the first time that a book has received funding for translation into Polish.

The Chinese version of this book was published by TUP in July 2013, and the Polish version is to be published by Adam Marsavik Press in Poland.    

After several rounds of expert review, 308 books from 131 publishing institutions across the country were selected for the project. 2020 is the most competitive year since the project’s establishment.

The Silk Road Book Publishing Project is a global publishing initiative and is designed to stimulate the translation and publication of great literary, historical and cultural works that are grounded in the cultures of peoples along the ancient Silk Road.

The project plan for 2014-2020 includes translation subsidies, translations between Chinese and various foreign languages, international exhibitions, and a database of Silk Road publications.
