Tsinghua University Press, CICHPRC join hands to protect intangible heritage

Tsinghua University Press, a subsidiary of Tsinghua Holdings Co, signed a strategic agreement with the China Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Research Center (CICHPRC) in Huangshan City, East China’s Anhui Province to publish an encyclopedia of China’s intangible heritages.     

Cheng Hong, deputy mayor of Huangshan City, Zhu Xiaojian, director of the China Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Research Center, Zong Junfeng, president of Tsinghua University Press, and Zhuang Hongquan, vice president of the press attended the signing ceremony.

The publication project is expected to further promote protection of intangible cultural heritages and accelerate the work’s informatization and digitization. Meanwhile, the public’s sense of identity and pride in traditional culture can be enhanced.

Zong noted that the press will make full use of its technical and platform advantages in digital publishing to provide comprehensive multi-media displays of intangible heritage achievements. Notably, more efforts will be made to ensure their copyright protection.

According to Zhu, the China Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Research Center has achieved fruitful results in protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage. This cooperation aims to showcase the unique charm of China’s intangible cultural heritage and to share the fruits of human civilization to the world.
