Unisoc (Shanghai) Technologies Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Tsinghua Holdings, obtained an accreditation certificate as a 5G joint laboratory from China Mobile, becoming one of the first 5G joint laboratories in the world to pass this accreditation.

The 5-month review ended recently, and included benchmarking of management, standards and methods, on-site testing capability evaluation and comparison of testing results.

Construction of the Unisoc Global Innovation Test Center related to 5G started in 2018. After nearly two years of hard work, the center now has the test equipment and test supporting capabilities of the industrial mainstream.

All of the nine 5G technology modules, opened to Unisoc by China Mobile in May 2020, have been officially recognized, which means the 5G (including 2/3/4G) terminal laboratory testing capabilities of the Unisoc Global Innovation Test Center have reached the same level as China Mobile, and the center has the ability to carry out 5G terminal testing and issue test reports approved by China Mobile.

China Mobile will conduct random inspections of tested terminals originating from the joint laboratories based on their test quality credibility. It is possible to directly approve the results of the joint laboratories without random testing.

The establishment of a 5G joint laboratory can improve the efficiency of operator certification services, enrich the channels for operators to customize terminals, and help terminal manufacturers accelerate listing of their products.
