WAF, hosted by the British EMAP Group, is one of the largest and most prestigious international architectural awards ceremonies. Indeed, it is hailed as the Academy Awards of the architecture industry.
WAF China is the exclusive authorized brand of WAF in China, and includes WAF China and INSIDE China. With the increasing number of Chinese entries, the organizing committee decided to set up the new WAF China in 2020, to better explore the country's talents and promote the development of China's architectural industry.
The awards will be an annual event. In addition to selecting WAF shortlisted works for the WAF main event, WAF China will set up more award categories and special prizes.
WAF China 2020 has combined live-streaming and onsite events, inviting designers, experts and judges to gather together without the limits of time and place.
WAF China is dedicated to establishing a professional and diversified platform, allowing more talented designers from around the world to share their design ideas, and allowing the world to see excellent design concepts and works in China.
Winners will automatically be shortlisted for the main WAF/INSIDE awards in Lisbon this coming June.
